Dismantle is a charity that exists to break the cycle of welfare dependency and social disadvantage in Western Australia. Operating out of Perth, they offer programs to mentor, train and employ young people aged 15-25 years who are at-risk of long-term disengagement and unemployment.
Dismantle also operates BikeRescue, an outreach program, uses bicycle mechanics to connect with and mentor young people who show signs of disengaging from school and the workforce. Suitable young people from BikeRescue are encouraged to continue in the work- readiness program and work at the social enterprises, ReNew Property Maintenance. ReNew provides young people with an immediate stable income, alongside case management support to meet personal physiological and safety needs. This minimises the risk of long-term unemployment and lays the foundations for personal growth, independence and long-term success.
